Emergency Management Director, Lt. Doug Bowles, Talks About Guarding Against COVID-19
Governor Mike Parsons has ordered that all gatherings of more than 10 people are no longer allowed, and it is recommended to maintain a social distance of 6 feet between individuals. If these measures cannot be followed and the virus continues to spread, the County Health Dept. will have no choice but to issue a shelter in place order.

These guidelines will only work if we, the citizens, do our part. Kids that are out of school need to stay home or be with the parents if they go for a walk. Just because school is currently out, it does not mean that it is okay to turn your children loose to run the neighborhoods playing with their friends. If children from 3 households get together and contract this virus, they will then spread the virus to their households, who can, in turn, continue the spread it through contact at work, shopping, etc. The saying goes, if 2 people contract the virus and they transmit it to 2 others, now there are four cases. Four cases turn into eight, eight turns into 16, and so on. Parents, please keep your children home. No one is immune to this virus. The CDC recommends that you wash your hands for 20 seconds and use hand sanitizer if available.
Thank you,
Lt. Doug Bowles
