Park Hills Garbage & Bulk Trash Services

 

Weekly Garbage Pick-Up

Residents are limited to four bags of trash per week for normal removal service. You may put trash out for weekly pickup in containers larger than 20 gallons but not larger than 35 gallons. Containers must not weigh more than 75 pounds when put out for pickup. Extra bags may be tagged for removal by purchasing tags for $1.00 each from City Hall. The city is divided into weekday routes for removal service. Please check this linked map to learn which weekday to put out the trash in your neighborhood.

Holiday Trash Schedule

When holidays fall on regular collection days, your pickup will be adjusted to ensure continuous service. The 2026 Holiday Trash Schedule is as follows:

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Monday, January 19 - Collected on Tuesday, January 20
  • President's Day: Monday, February 16 - Collected on Tuesday, February 17
  • Good Friday: Friday, April 3 - Collected on Monday, April 6
  • Memorial Day: Monday, May 25 - Collected on Tuesday, May 26
  • Juneteenth: Friday, June 19 - Collected on Monday, June 22
  • Independence Day: Observed on Friday, July 3 - Collected on Monday, July 6
  • Labor Day: Monday, September 7 - Collected on Tuesday, September 8
  • Columbus/Indigenous Peoples Day: Monday, October 12 - Collected on Tuesday, October 13
  • Veterans Day: Wednesday, November 11 - Collected on Thursday, November 12
  • Thanksgiving Day: Thursday, November 26 - Collected on Wednesday, November 25
  • Thanksgiving Holiday: Friday, November 27 - Collected on Monday, November 30
  • Christmas Eve: Thursday, December 24 - Collected on Wednesday, December 23
  • Christmas Day: Friday, December 25 - Collected on Monday, December 28

Bulk Trash Pick-Up

The City of Park Hills offers three bulk trash pickup opportunities throughout the year for a fee of $10.00 per pickup. You must come to City Hall to register and pay the fee no later than the Friday before the scheduled pick-up in which you would like to participate. The schedule for 2026 is as follows:

Ward 1 Pick-Up Schedule:

  • Pick-Up #1: Collected on Monday, January 12 - The deadline to sign up is Friday, January 9
  • Pick-Up #2: Collected on Monday, May 11 - The deadline for Sign-Up is Friday, May 8
  • Pick-Up #3: Collected on Monday, September 14 - The deadline for Sign-Up is Friday, September 11

Ward 2 Pick-Up Schedule:

  • Pick-Up #1: Collected on Monday, February 9 - The deadline for Sign-Up is Friday, February 6
  • Pick-Up #2: Collected on Monday, June 8 - The deadline for Sign-Up is Friday, June 5
  • Pick-Up #3: Collected on Tuesday, October 13 - The deadline for Sign-Up is Friday, October 9

Ward 3 Pick-Up Schedule:

  • Pick-Up #1: Collected on Monday, March 9 - The deadline for Sign-Up is Friday, March 6

Rules and Guidelines for Bulk Trash Pick-Up

  • Bulk trash collection may include household furniture and appliances, with a total WEIGHT NOT TO EXCEED 1/2 TON with NO SINGLE ITEM TO EXCEED 250 LBS.  Exceeding these limits may result in items being left behind.
  • Bulk trash items MAY NOT INCLUDE vegetative matter, tires, batteries, other hazardous materials, or construction debris. 
  • Appliances that have compressors and/or Freon (i.e., refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers, etc.) MUST have the compressor removed.
  • All items for pickup MUST BE CURBSIDE in front of your home.  NO alley or side-street pickups are allowed!
  • All items MUST be set out by Monday Morning of the week of your scheduled pickup.

Registration For Bulk Trash Pick-Up

There is a $10.00 Fee to participate.

If you would like to participate in the bulk trash pickup for your ward, you MUST REGISTER at City Hall no later than the Friday Before your scheduled pickup week. *PLEASE NOTE: BULK TRASH MAY NOT BE PICKED UP ON MONDAY, DUE TO MONDAY'S DOUBLE TRASH ROUTE. THEY DO HAVE UNTIL FRIDAY TO GET EVERYONE ON THE LIST PICKED UP!

Items being set out for bulk pickup can be set out starting the weekend before bulk pickup starts. All items MUST be set out by 7:00 a.m. on Monday of the week of pickup. Only 1 stop per address. Once items are picked up, the guys will not stop again, so please don't set anything out after they do the pickup.

Curbside Recycling

Park Hills City Council Members voted to officially discontinue recycling services on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.

Open Burning

The open burning season extends from October 15 through April 15 except when discontinued by order of the Fire Chief or the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Rules and guidelines for burning may be found in the City's Code. Click Here to view the code.

Burning during the offseason (April 15 to October 15) is allowed, but only by obtaining a burn permit from City Hall.
