About The Senior Nutrition Center

The Park Hills Senior Center delivers meals on wheels to approximately 185 homebound seniors (60+) in the Park Hills, Desloge, Leadington, & Leadwood areas. They also offer onsite meals daily at the center.

The Park Hills Senior Nutrition Center encourages seniors to come to join them for lunch at the center. It is a great way to make new friends, enjoy arts, crafts, games, and entertainment while enjoying a wonderful meal.

The Park Hills Senior Nutrition Center is the proud recipient of several awards, including:

  • The SEMO AAA Star Award Presented to Director, Holly Buxton and Volunteer, Rose Ball
  • A Two-Time Winner of the State's Innovative Idea Award
  • A Two-Time Winner of the Citizen of the Year Award & The 110% Award

These awards were earned thanks to the excellent seniors, volunteers, & staff who all care deeply about the Senior Center Program.

Meals at the Senior Nutrition Center

The Park Hills Senior Nutrition Center offers lunchtime meals Monday through Friday for dine-in, carry-out, or delivery. Deliveries are made through the Meals on Wheels* program to qualifying senior citizens throughout the area.

A suggested donation of $4 per meal is requested for seniors age 60 and older. For guests age 59 and younger, a suggested donation of $6 per meal is requested.

Friends of the Senior Center

In addition to providing nutritious meals, the Senior Nutrition Center is supported by the Friends of the Senior Center program. This community-driven initiative helps offset meal costs for seniors who may be experiencing financial hardship. Community members can support the program by sponsoring meals for local seniors through monthly, weekly, or one-time donations.

  • $80 sponsors a month of meals for a senior
  • $20 sponsors a week of meals for a senior
  • Donations of any amount are welcome and help support meal services for area seniors

For a weekly menu, information about activities and programs, or to learn more about supporting the Friends of the Senior Center program, contact the Senior Nutrition Center at 573-431-4974 or visit their Facebook page at Park Hills Senior Center.

Volunteers Needed!

The Senior Center can always use volunteers! They need route drivers, packers, and desk help.

Staff members and volunteers constantly strive to make the center a warm, friendly place to visit. Seniors who visit the center have made lasting friendships and always look forward to the center's activities.

If you can help out, please call Holly at 573-431-4974.
