Park Hills City Council

The Mayor and eight (8) council members, two (2) from each of the four (4) wards, comprise the governing body for the city. In the event of the Mayor's absence, the President Pro Tempore* will preside over the council meeting. The council selects the President Pro Tempore at the beginning of each new term.

Council Meetings

The Council meets for its regular sessions in the Municipal Chambers at City Hall on the second (2nd) Tuesday of each month at 6:00 P.M. Council conducts work sessions as needed. Special meetings and committee meetings are called as needed. All regular Council meetings are open to the public. To reserve time (up to ten minutes) to address the City Council, call the City Clerk's Office at (573) 431-3577 before noon on Thursday preceding the meeting. Council meetings follow the guidance of the Park Hills Municipal Code and Robert's Rules of Order.

This request form must be delivered to the City Clerk or City Administrator prior to 12:00 noon on Thursday, preceding the meeting, and may be honored at the time "Public Comment" appears on the agenda or a specific agenda item is open for discussion.


Public Notice

Committee Meetings are scheduled as needed in the Council Conference Room, 12 Municipal Dr. Council committee meetings are publicized at least one day in advance and are open for public attendance. The Conference Room is accessible to the disabled.


Qualifications for Council

Candidates for the office of Councilmember must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age prior to taking office, a citizen of the United States and a resident of the City for one (1) year preceding his or her election, and a resident of the ward from which he or she is elected for six (6) months preceding his or her election as required by Municipal Ordinance 110.020 and RSMo. 77.060.

Election filing begins in December and ends in January. Candidates can read the Missouri Ethics Guide to assure compliance with election laws. Elections are held in April.
