Goals for 2020

City Administrator, Mark McFarland, reveals the City's Goals for 2020.

The Book of Proverbs says:  “Where there is no vision, the people perish”.   The same can be said about a city. Where there is no vision, the City will perish.

This blog contains the Vision for the City of Park Hills in 2020.

Goals for 2020

  • Have a Balanced Budget for FY 20/21

  • Complete Fairground Project

  • Expand  “Light up Columbia Park”  at Christmas to include business participation

  • Complete all Adopt a Sidewalk/Curbing that is currently on file

  • Work with the Downtown Association & other groups to find ways to promote our Historic Downtown Business area

  • Make necessary improvements to restore the Water Plant and develop a plan to make the old Water Plant once again operational

  • Rebury the Time Capsule to be opened in 2044

  • Work with Central Middle School to celebrate Medal of Honor recipient Darrell S. Cole

  • Stormwater, Sidewalk & Street improvements

How much can be improved will be determined by the outcome of the “Use Tax” issue.  If passed by voters in the April election the city will be able to repair or replace a greater number.  All monies collected (100%) from the “Use Tax” will be placed in the budget for Stormwater, Sidewalk, and Street repairs.

  • Waterline improvements and a plan to reduce water infiltration into the Sewer System

  • The Park Hills Police Department will become more aggressive in stopping the use and sale of illegal drugs inside our city.

The focus of the City of Park Hills for 2020 is mainly on restoring infrastructure, promoting new businesses, and to become once again fiscally sound. The City has all the ingredients needed to succeed.  The City has dedicated workers, a united council and mayor, good citizens and the desire to see these goals accomplished. Together we can achieve great things in Park Hills.
