The City of Park Hills would like to inform the community that the rail line running through our community will be active once again. In partnership with Capital Railroad and Union Pacific, the City has worked closely to restore operations along this important transportation corridor.

The City of Park Hills would like to inform the community that the rail line running through our community will be active once again. In partnership with Capital Railroad and Union Pacific, the City has worked closely to restore operations along this important transportation corridor.
Residents can expect to see between 5 and 10 railcars per week, with activity occurring only on Wednesdays, though not every Wednesday. Rail cars will travel to Capital Railroad’s spur, where they will be loaded before being shipped out.
We understand that renewed rail activity may generate some concern, particularly for those living or traveling near the tracks. At the same time, this reactivation reflects a significant step forward for our region, supporting economic growth, industrial activity, and continued investment in Park Hills.
The City urges everyone to exercise caution when approaching rail crossings, especially on days when operations are underway.
