The City of Park Hills is seeking a full‑time Code Enforcement Officer to help keep our neighborhoods safe, clean, and attractive. This position combines code enforcement and animal control duties and works directly with residents, businesses, and partner agencies.

Position Highlights

  • Enforce City ordinances related to property maintenance, nuisances, sanitation, and abandoned/inoperable vehicles
  • Respond to complaints, conduct field inspections, document violations, and follow up on corrective actions
  • Perform animal control duties, including responding to calls about stray or dangerous animals, humane capture and transport, and coordination with shelters and veterinarians
  • Provide public education on ordinance compliance and responsible pet ownership

 Pay & Schedule

  • Full‑time, non‑exempt position
  • Pay range: $16.83 – $21.44 per hour, based on qualifications and experience

 Minimum Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Missouri driver’s license in good standing
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently in the field and handle confrontational situations professionally
  • Experience in code enforcement, inspections, animal control, law enforcement support, public works, or a related field preferred
